New York City Hotlist |
Below you can find an overview of my hot-picks of New York City, which I think you need to visit or do when in the City. Over the coming months, Xander and I will try and visit many places in the City, and when we think it is worthwhile, I will put it on my hotlist. I will try to update this list at least once a month, so make sure you check back regularly! |
Wonderful Thai food, normal portions. It is best to arrive after 7.30pm, because then everybody who wants to eat before a show on Broadway is gone. |
Restaurant: Chanpen Thai 761 9th Avenue, Manhattan

Nice wine bar with cozy city garden en amazing wine cellar. Most wines are available per glass (10-15 dollar). Tapas/snacks available (appr 7-12 dollar). Entrees are good as well, but a little pricy. Free bread and olive oil with any wine order, tap water free as well. |
Winebar: Medi Wine Bar 811 9th Avenue, Manhattan

A different musical than you might be used to, but definitely one that has you falling off your seat with laughter and you will leave the theater in good spirits. Even though the musical definitely contains some messages, and tackles many American taboos. Proper command of the English language is necessary to understand the jokes. |

For the insider: it reminds me a little bit of Epo’s in Ghana, but with more classe. Good cocktails for a reasonable price. An all out New York vibe. Note: go up to the rooftop bar as inside is not much happening. |
Rooftop bar: lucy’s 1 Penn Plaza, Manhattan |
Musical: Avenue Q New World Stages 340 West 50th Street, Manhattan
